En un reciente ataque aéreo israelí en el Norte de Gaza, Israel mató al comandante al jefe de operaciones de la Yihad Islámica en Gaza, Muhammad Abu Sakhil. El ataque tuvo como objetivo una sala de comando localizada en una antigua escuela.
El comandante fue objeto de «un ataque preciso» por parte de la Fuerza Aérea de Israel.
Según un comunicado oficial, Abu Sakhil operaba desde un centro de mando ubicado en un complejo que anteriormente funcionaba como escuela Fahd Al-Sabah en el norte de Gaza.
Las fuerzas israelíes describieron a Abu Sakhil como una figura clave dentro de Yihad Islámica, responsable de planificar y coordinar ataques, incluidas operaciones conjuntas con Hamas contra civiles y tropas israelíes.
En un ataque ocurrido el domingo, el ejército israelí bombardeó una casa donde se encontraban personas refugiadas que fueron desplazadas del área de Jabalia.
Las fuentes médicas palestinas informaron que este ataque aéreo asesinó a 44 palestinos, incluidos 13 niños, y dejó decenas de heridos.
